COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECT UPDATE

A lot has been been going on recently with the Town Council approving another batch of designs for the decorated bollards this week, some of which have already started, adding further colour and interest to the town.

There's an article about last night's bollards official launch party (and anointment of the White Hart's bollards!) on the town's website.

I would just like to thank all those who turned up at last night's bollard 'launch' and 'head-wetting' at the White Hart.
I was truly overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm that was shown and was quite taken aback by the numbers who turned up - I think there were nearly 30 on the tour around the existing decorations and more in the pub!

There are so many people I would like to thank personally that it becomes quite difficult, but without their encouragement this project may not have continued.

Of course a very big thank you must go to Andy and Julie (and Arkells) at the White Hart for sponsoring the first bollards and for hosting the excellent evening.

Everything was just so positive and creative that I am still experiencing the buzz and excitement from it all! However, it is the town's project; it belongs to the Whitchurch community and will hopefully add some colour and vibrancy, as well as discussion and creative thinking into at least a part of Whitchurch life.
And as a result of last night there are already some further designs submitted!

Thank you all.

John
